Five cases with intracranial germ cell tumors (IC-GCT) admitted to Istanbul University Institute of Oncology between 1987 and 1989 are analysed retrospectively. Craniospinal radiotherapy was applied to three cases with intracranial germinoma whereas chemotherapy in conjuction with limited field radiotherapy were applied to the other two cases with non-germinoma IC-GCT. Four cases were alive at the end of an 18 to 41 month period of follow-up. The treatment of cases are discussed with an emphasis on the controversial points in IC-GCT therapy.
