Abstract
The administration of X-ray with 50 KV onto deep surgical wounds and the healing of connective tissues were evaluated. The mice groups which one group received 1x200 cGy/day for totalling 2000 cGy and the other group receiving 2x120 cGy/day for 10 days totaling 2400 cGy were compared with non-irradiated mice control groups in the device "tensiometer" that measures the tissue strength. The groups which received radiotherapy after post-op 7 days demonstrated significantly less tissue strength compared to the control group that did not receive any radiotherapy. Thus, no significance in the aspect of tissue strength were observed between single fractionated and double fractionated groups.
