QUALITY ASSURANCE FOR A HIGH DOSE, REMOTE CONTROL (SELECTRON-HDR) BRACHYTHERAPY UNIT

A Selectron-HDR unit was installed in SSK Hospital in May 1990, and after calibration, was brought into clinical use in September 1990. The unit is serviced by Nucletron representative company of Medkom once every month. Although there is no formal programme in our country, at the centres which have these equipments a quality assurance programme is being applicated parallel to the various international quality assurance programmes. In our programme various tests were carried on daily, monthly and annually. In this paper we are going to discuss our quality assurance programme and results.
