VERIFYING SET-UP MISTAKES BY PORT FILMS DURING MANTLE FIELD TREATMENT

In this study, films taken in simulation were compaired with the films taken at the beginning of treatment (port films) and during treatment (verification films) in the patients with 18 Hodgkin disease treated by mantle technique of AP and PA positions. The mislocolisation rates in set-ups were found to be 58.6% in port films and 41.6% in verification films. In the study of AP and PA position film separately the rates were 58% in AP and 41% PA port films, 46.6% AP and 53.2% PA verification films. Addiationally, the mislocalisation rates were increased in female than that of the male and children. As a conclusion, it is verified that some mistakes can be made related with the position of the patients and blocks but those mistakes can be corrected as much as possible by using the port and verification films.
