THE ROLE OF NUCLEAR MEDICINE TECHNICS IN THE EVALUATION OF LUNG CA

Nuclear medicine technics are among the investigation methods which are used for detecting of the primary focus and metastases, staging, early detecting of the recurrens and treatment response of the lung cancer. And the use of these technics are became widespread through the developments and increased specifity of SPECT and PET equipments and pharmaceutical which are used in the nuclear medicine studies. By using recently developed monoclonal antibodies in the investigation of the lung cancer and their high specifity to tumor issues increased the importance of the SPECT and PET methods. If the monoclonal antibodies are developed more and tagged with beta-emitters they may be used for the radio-immunotherapy of the cancers.
