SERUM INTERLEUKIN-6 LEVELS IN MULTIPLE MYELOMA

In this study the levels of IL-6, CRP, beta2 microglobulin were studied in 8 control and 10 MM patients who had been diagnosed in our department between 1994-1995. Of the patients 5 were female and 5 were male, mean age was 61.6 (57-74). Interleukin-6 and CRP were significantly increased in the patient group, whereas beta2 microglobulin was normal. There was a correlation between CRP-and stage of disease (r=0.46), IL-6 and CRP (r=0.86), IL-6 and stage of disease (r=0.25).
