RESULTS OF RADIOTHERAPY IN THE TREATMENT OF PEYRONIE'S DISEASE

Abstract
Twelve patients with Peyronie's disease who underwent external radiotherapy from 1986 to 1995 at Ankara University School of Medical, Department of Radiation Oncology were retrospectively evaluated. Median total tumour dose was 850 cGy (ranges 600-2000 cGy) applied in 4 fractions (ranges 3-10 fractions) in 6 days (ranges 3-12 days). Median follow up was 3 years (0.2-9.4 years). Eight out of ten patients had improvement or disappearance of pain during erection, 5/11 had partial improvement in the deviation, 4/12 had regression of the plaques in the penis and none of 5 patients had response regarding importance.
