CHEMOTHERAPY RESULTS IN OVARIAN CARCINOMA

Abstract
230 patients with ovarian carcinoma who received chemotherapy in the department of Medical Oncology, Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty, from 1976 to 1986 were evaluated retrospectively. Single drug chemotherapy was compared with combination chemotherapy regimens with or without cisplatinum. In patients under 60 years of age, 1 year survival rate with single agent was 74 %, without Cisplatinum 58 %, and, with Cisplatinum 74 %. 5 year survival rates were 45 %, 15 % and, 51 % respectively. In patients older than 80, first year survival rate with single agent was 69 %, without Cisplatinum 30 %, and, with Cisplatinum 75 % 2 year survival rate were 35 %, 30 % and 75 % respectively.
