In this report, the experience of postoperative radiotherapy has been presented in two cases with a diagnosis of PVNS.
The first case is a patient with diffuse PVNS of the knee who was referred for postoperative radiotherapy after her fourth local recurrence. The second one has a localized PVNS in the distal part of lower extremity. Clinical and radiologic features of the disease, as well as treatment results have been emphasized in the light of the presentation of these cases and experience from retrospective series. Postoperative radiotherapy is a preventive treatment approach in cases with a high risk of recurrence after excision. The use of postoperative radiotherapy makes it possible both to reduce the recurrence risk and to project the joint function.
