In the period 1984 through 1987,one patient with primary and six with recurrent soft tissue sarcomas were treated by marginal excision (three cases and wide local excision (four cases) with radiation therapy and chemotherapy or both. During the follow up (median 10.8 months), two patients (% 28.5) developed local recurrence and distant metastases were observed in three cases (%42.8) and mortality occured in one patient (% 14.2). In this article, the clinical results of the cases have been presented, the concerning literature and the principles of the soft tissue sarcoma treatment have been reviewed.
