Abstract
In this paper, 198 patients with colorectal carcinoma treated between 1976-1986 were reviewed to investigate the results of four different chemotherapy regimens. In addition, new concepts in chemotherapy of colorectal carcinoma were discussed. It is concluded that chemotherapy effect, in metastatic disease, is very limited. Adjuvant therapy, however, seems to improve survival rate and the quality of life. Immunotherapy and radiotherapy are other useful modalities reinforcing chemotherapy.
