The results of chemotherapy in 66 patients with multiple myeloma were retrospectively analysed. The median survival was 12 months with one year and 5 year survivals 56 and 10 percent respectively. Age, hemoglobin and blood urea level and Bence Jones proteinuria were the factors effecting the survival. Among 17 patients who were treated with cytotoxic agents more than 2 years. One patient (5.8 percent) developed acute leukemia.
