THE CORRELATION OF MORPHOLOGICAL CLASSIFICATION WITH CHROMOSOMAL ABERRATIONS IN NON-HODGKIN'S LYMPHOMA

Abstract
Chromosomal analysis of tumor tissue, bone marrow and peripheral blood was performed in 10 patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, and the results were correlated with the histopathologic diagnosis and clinical characteristics. Chromosomal evaluation was done over a minimum of 20 metaphases in samples with adequate mitotic index; the maximum number of metaphases were evaluated in those with less than adequate metaphases. Eight of the tumors studied revealed structural or numerical chromosomal aberrations. When all cases with chromosomal aberrations were evaluated for pathologic chromosomes, the most frequently affected chromosomes were the 14, 9, 13, 12, 11, 1 and 4 th, respectively. In most of the chromosomal aberrations, such as 14g32 and 14g24, 12g13 and 12p11, 9g34 and 9g11, 11 g13 and 18g21, histopathologic correlations were similar to those in the literature.
