Abstract
We evaluated 47 congenital tumors which were diagnosed in our department with the help of biopsies or autopsies within the intrauterin period and the first 3 months of age between the years of 1984 and 1994. The female/male ratio is 2/1. We established that, 40.4% of congenital tumors were teratomas, 21.3% were neuroblastomas, 14.9% were soft tissue tumors, 8.5% were leukemia and lymphoma, and 4.3% were primitive neuroectodermal tumors. We compared our findings with the literature and reviewed the recent opinions on congenital tumors.
