LATE SIDE EFFECTS IN ORAL CAVITY AND TEETH, FOLLOWING IRRADIATION OF HEAD AND NECK REGION: CURRENT MANAGEMENT

Late side effects in oral cavity and teeth, following irradiation of head and neck region, deteriorates the quality of life of patients, especially due to their effect on major salivary glands, and further causes complication as nutritional problems, infection, necrosis etc. Some of these side effects might be avoided by careful treatment planning and preventive daily fluore application. In this short review these methods and their applications, as well as some recent changes are discussed.
