Abstract
Alveolar soft part sarcoma is a rare malignant soft tissue tumour of uncertain histogenesis, A twenty nine-year-old woman with alveolar soft part sarcoma located in her left quadriceps femoris was presented with clinical and histopathological findings. In addition to typical histopathological appearance, intracytoplasmic PAS positive, diastase resistant crystalles were seen. Tumour cells showed a strong positive reaction to Neuron Specific Enolase (NSE), S-100, vimentin and focal positivity to desmin. No reaction was observed with keratin, Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) and Grimelius. Lung metastases were detected and marginal excision was done following chemotherapy. Clinical and histopathological findings of our case were discussed in light of the literature.
