Abstract

Radiation injury to lungs due to thoracal irradiation may occur in the treatment of breast, lung, oesophagus cancer, lymphoma and other mediastinal tumors. In this review the effect of radiotherapy on lungs is evaluated with respect to clinical syndromes, histopathology, diagnosis, and treatment and preventive strategies are also emphasized.
